It’s been a long time since I have written a blog. I apologize for that and really have no good excuse. I will just make an effort to put one together now. I have been thinking about what I might want to write about, so here goes. Keep in mind that some things are my opinion and may or may not be based on facts. Please forgive any errors I may have made.

What better place to start than with the Mosconi Cup? Great job team USA! In case there’s anyone out there in the pool world who doesn’t know, the Mosconi Cup is held once a year between team USA and team Europe. Team USA won in 2018 and 2019. According to Wikipedia both USA and Europe have won the Mosconi Cup 12 times each and they tied once.

Halloween and Thanksgiving have come and gone. Christmas and the New Year is right around the corner. This year seems to have gone by so fast, I find myself wondering where it went. All in all, it’s been a pretty good year for Big Tyme Billiards. I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Remember to party and drink responsibly so that you all make it to 2020 safe and sound with no big problems.

We have had incredible participation and support from APA of North Harris County. Thank you, league players and thanks to Roger Schuett, the hard-working league operator. We appreciate you and all you do for the sport, the venues and the players. We are all looking forward to another successful year. We strive to provide an excellent place for the players to come play pool, visit with friends, and just have fun.

Houston Best of Billiards (H.B.O.B), headed by the “princess of pool”, Teresa Garland has been an added benefit for our business and our clientele. Teresa does an outstanding job of keeping up with everything pertaining to H.B.O.B. in addition to her other responsibilities and her own love of the game.

Space City Open (what a GREAT tournament), Lone Star Tour, and Gulf Coast Tour. What can you say about the efforts of Kim Newsome other than, congratulations on your success with these tournaments? Kim is a great supporter of the sport we all love.

JO Ladies Tour – Sponsored by Jerry Olivier, custom cue maker. This just may be the longest running ladies tour in the U.S. I’m not 100% sure about that but I am sure that there are a lot of ladies that love the tour and participate in everyone that they can.

Big Tyme Billiards is a proud supporter and host of all of the above mentioned tours as well as several leagues for APA of North Harris County (8 ball, 9 ball and scotch doubles), BCA 8 ball league, NAPA league, Texas Indoor Sports League and UBL. Frankly, if it weren’t for the league players and operators we probably wouldn’t be here. We thank you all.

Until next time! Play pool and have fun.
